ERCCIS Dragonfly Workshop
Location: Helman Tor,
The reserve is 2.5 miles (4 km) south of Bodmin, 2 miles to the north west of Lostwithiel.
From the A30 / A391 roundabout (south of Bodmin) turn north to Lanivet and take the first right under the A30 bridge. Shortly after the bridge, take the first left up the hill. After ½ mile turn right at Reperry Cross and immediately take the fork left to Trebell Green. After a sharp right bend, take the left turn (between the granite posts). At the top of this road, on the left, is a rough car park.

Join us for a field trip to Breney Common where we will learn how to survey for the dragonflies and damselflies found in Cornwall.

Find out how to tell your emperors from your hawkers and your skimmers from your darters. In this workshop, we will spend a day on the Helman Tor reserve learning the tricks and techniques of identifying the species of dragonfly and damselfly found in Cornwall. As well as developing our identification skills, we will be coached in effective, repeatable survey methods for producing good quality biological records that can be used to inform conservation efforts. |
