ERCCIS Wildlife Information Service (WIS) Assistant

Cornwall Wildlife Trust is looking for a WIS assistant to help with answering a variety of emails and phone calls. You will provide advice and support for a range of questions and queries from the wider public.

We receive a huge number of enquiries from the public about a broad variety of issues related to Cornish wildlife.  As WIS assistant you will help answer emails and phone calls. You will provide advice and support for a range of questions and queries and may include using social media channels. There will be on the job training and mentoring by the WIS team to increase your knowledge and help the team provide expert advice to the wider public.

Activities:

  • Answering emails and phone calls from the public about Cornish species and related issues.
  • Using a web-based application to log and respond to enquiries.
  • Help with advice and support posts through our social media channels.
  • Training on email and phone responses to common queries.
  • Training on specific responses to issues of CWT policy and strategy.

Experience:

  • Be familiar with Cornish wildlife and the issues they face.
  • Be familiar with the conservation sector.
  • Passionate about increasing your knowledge about species found in Cornwall.
  • Have good communication skills: verbal and written.
  • Have enthusiasm, self-motivation and initiative.
  • Be familiar with the work of CWT and ERCCIS including projects and campaigns.
  • Be confident, personable and patient!
