About the event

Join local marine experts from Looe Marine Conservation Group and Cornwall Wildlife Trust to explore and learn about the fantastic marine life in your local area.

We’ll be discovering what amazing marine life lies beneath the surface in a beautiful location in Looe, from sensational seaweeds to amazing anemones, cracking crabs and spectacular seagrass.

Booking is essential

When? Saturday 26th August - 12 midday - 3:00pm

Where? Hannafore Beach- Meet us on the beach by the slipway (Look for the Looe MCG and Cornwall Wildlife Trust gazebo)

Cost? The event is FREE but there is an option to make a voluntary donation to help us continue to run these fun community events.

Who? All are welcome to participate from 9 years or older, however ability to swim is essential and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times (including in the water).

Please bring along your own kit for snorkelling if you have it (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and wetsuit boots). However, if you would like to borrow any equipment, please let us know when booking.

Parking available on Marine Drive or at local car parks

Final details will be emailed to all participants on Thursday 24th July.

Mobility

Please note that this event is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility due to the uneven terrain on the shore and the access down to the beach. 

There are public toilets located on the beach.

It is not compulsory to participate for the full two hours although we ask that you arrive at the start time for our safety briefing.

What to bring

Please bring along your own kit for snorkelling if you have it (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and wetsuit boots). However, if you would like to borrow any equipment, please let us know when booking.

You must wear a wetsuit for health and safety reasons. If you don't have your own we are happy to lend you one. Let us know when booking.
