Campfire Stories: Dreckly the Drop's Adventure from Tor to Shore
Event details
About the event
Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Acorn Adventures CIC for an afternoon of storytelling, campfires and outdoor family fun at Acorn Camping & Glamping on Sunday 25 October, from 13:00 to 17:00.
Gather around the campfire for a reading of Dreckly the Drop's Adventure from Tor to Shore, a children's story written and illustrated by local illustrator Ebony Underwood. Follow the journey of a tiny water droplet as it evaporates from St Austell Bay, falls as rain on Helman Tor, and discovers the amazing wildlife of Cornwall on its journey back to the sea.
Campfire story sessions are available at:
🔥 13:30
🔥 14:30
🔥 15:30
Continue your adventure with our self-guided short story trail, outdoor colouring activities and nature-inspired free play. These activities are available throughout the afternoon and can be enjoyed before or after your booked story slot, although we recommend completing them afterwards to help bring the story to life.
Families are welcome to arrive and leave whenever suits them between 13:00 and 17:00. We suggest allowing around 2 hours to enjoy both a campfire story session and the drop-in activities.
The story is particularly suited to younger primary-aged children, but families with children of all ages are welcome.
Booking Information
A place on the campfire story session must be booked in advance.
When booking:
- Book a child ticket for each child attending a campfire story session.
- You must also book the required adult add-on tickets.
- All children attending must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their children at all times throughout the event, including during campfire sessions, the story trail and all other activities.
Campfire story sessions must be booked in advance. Places are limited to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone around the campfire.
Families without a campfire booking are very welcome to enjoy the free drop-in activities and story trail. If any campfire spaces become available on the day due to cancellations or no-shows, we may be able to offer these to families taking part in the drop-in activities. However, this cannot be guaranteed, and we strongly recommend booking a campfire session in advance to avoid disappointment.
