About the event
During this session you will learn what lichens are, how they reproduce and adapt to their surroundings, and the basic skills you need to begin to identify them. You will discover the main growth forms of lichen, key features used in ID, and learn some common and not so common species, all while taking in the beautiful landscape at West Muchlarnick, and finding out about our plans to restore temperate rainforest habitat.
What to bring: Sturdy footwear, e.g. walking boots. Please also bring a drink and appropriate protection for the weather e.g. sunhat, sunscreen, waterproofs.
Accessibility: Please note that this session will involve approximately 2km of walking including some steep terrain.
Please note we have a strict no dogs policy at this site to protect livestock.
