About the reserve

Ancient woodland makes up a quarter of this reserve, surrounding historic mining operations: a sign of Cornish heritage, with some activity dating back to the Tudor period. In the 1960’s a commercial conifer forestry plantation was founded, but the trees are now well established and home to many diverse speciesrecent work has involved the removal of many of these conifers followed by replanting with native broadleaved trees. How many bird calls can you identify in the wood?
