We are looking for anyone with experience and enthusiasm for growing vegetables to compliment our existing team of volunteer gardeners.

Position details

Commitment:

Wednesday

Frequency:

Weekly

This opportunity is based at Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Five Acres, Allet, Truro TR4 9DJ. Wednesday mornings 9.30 - 12.30, or longer hours if wanted, plus possibly some extra watering visits in summer.

We have an established, organic, no-pesticide allotment-type garden, surrounded by a wild flower meadow, in the extensive and beautiful grounds of our headquarters at Allet, with vehicle parking, toilet facilities and good transport links. The allotment garden includes: hosepipe water supply, well-tended beds with veg already growing, fruit bushes, orchard, small poly tunnel, rabbit fence, tool shed, composting and plenty of well-rotted manure to use.

Sadly, our veg 'guru' has recently moved home and has had to let us go. There are two enthusiastic and supportive volunteer gardeners on site who would welcome the fun and friendship of working with a new veg leader! You can also get help from the friendly staff and other volunteers on site.
