Run for beavers in Cornwall
Want to make a huge difference to wildlife in Cornwall? You can support Cornwall Wildlife Trust's Wild Beaver Appeal by running the Eden Project Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday 19th October 2025. (Find out more about the event here.)
Beavers are incredible ecosystem engineers - boosting biodiversity, fighting climate change and helping to reduce flooding. Their return could transform Cornwall's landscapes and wildlife for generations to come.

But this vision can only become reality if we raise the funds needed to make it happen.
In fact, if you run the full marathon, the route goes right over Helman Tor at the top of our largest nature reserve. The reserve features a vast expanse of wild wetland at the heart of Cornwall, which would further be enhanced and revitalised by the presence of beavers. (Please note: the Half Marathon does not follow the same route.)
By taking part in this event, you will:
- Help bring wild beavers back to Cornwall.
- Participate in Cornwall's biggest running event.
- Run through spectacular countryside.
- Meet like-minded people.
- Receive fundraising support.
- Get a pasty and pint at the end of the race, along with a medal and free entry to the Eden Project for you and your supporters!
- Make a difference by creating a Cornwall where nature thrives.
We suggest that marathon runners aim to raise at least £500 and half marathon runners to raise at least £300.
