Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust on Tuesday 29th October for a business networking day with a difference. In the face of the climate crisis and ecological breakdown, now may be the time to change from the 'business as usual' approach. With this in mind, the business networking event has been designed to help you make decisions to grow your business while making a positive impact on the environment.

Speakers and workshop sessions will help empower you to take environmentally positive decisions that will help your business to flourish. Case studies from local companies that have increased their links with nature to the benefit of their business are sure to be a highlight.

Tevi (the Cornish word for ‘grow’), is an exciting ERDF funded support programme aiming to help Cornwall make the most of nature, and will also be offering up to £1,000 worth of free support through some 1-to-1 sessions. Tevi uses circular economy and environmental growth strategies to help businesses improve their processes, save money and benefit the natural environment.

There will be plenty of time for networking with business leaders during the complimentary breakfast and lunch, and a tasting session for St Austell Brewery’s new ‘Wild Coast’ beer, brewed in partnership with Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

June Donnery, General Manager of the Perran and Riviere Sands Holiday Park, will discuss ‘Nature; how it improves customer satisfaction and business success’.

Speakers will also offer workshops to help explore the best ways that companies can give the Cornish natural world a helping hand. Carolyn Cadman, the CEO of Cornwall Wildlife Trust, will run a workshop on ‘“A Wilder Future” for Cornwall, and how your business can help’, while Mark Duddridge, Chair of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (CIoS LEP) looks at: ‘How together we can put Environmental Growth at the heart of the Local Industrial Strategy’. Nicola Lloyd, Director of Cornwall Trade and Investment will explore how to: ‘Do good, make money: How “business for good” makes good business sense.

Carolyn Cadman, CEO of Cornwall Wildlife Trust says,

“It is wonderful to see so many Cornish businesses getting interested in how they can help nature and Cornwall’s wildlife to survive and thrive. The Wild Business Networking Event has been organised in association with Tevi and is a great way to find out about the benefits of nature for businesses across Cornwall

The event is free to attend and I would like to invite any Cornish companies interested in supporting wildlife and nature to book a place... In our experience, partnerships between Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Cornish businesses provide a win-win for our communities, our economy and for Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places.”

Dr Dan Bloomfield, Project Manager at Tevi, says,

“There is hardly a business in Cornwall that does not depend upon the quality of the Cornish environment in some way, and all will make an impact upon that environment.  We think that making the most of that natural asset should mean doing more business, and doing that business better, smarter and cleaner.  We’re looking forward to this event very much, and discussing with Cornish businesses how we can help them grow”.

The Wild Business event will be running from 8:30am – 1:30pm and is FREE to attend. Includes complimentary breakfast and lunch, inspiring talks, networking, workshops and refreshments.
