Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust on Tuesday 29th October at St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre for a business networking event with a difference. In the face of the climate crisis and ecological breakdown, now may be the time to change from the 'business as usual' approach. Businesses will learn how they can make decisions that benefit themselves as well as wildlife through workshops, case studies, and speakers.  There will also be a chance to find out how businesses can access £1000 of free business support with Tevi.

Speakers include; Kim Conchie - CEO of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce,  Mark Dandridge – Chair of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, June Donnery – GM of Perrans Sands Holiday Park, amongst others. Talks will be followed by workshops which explore the benefits that the natural world can provide for growing businesses.

The event is part of the Festival of Business, hosted by Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber nominated Cornwall Wildlife Trust as Charity of the Year 2019/20 and recognises the importance of businesses and wildlife working together.

Kim Conchie, CEO of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce says

“Business owners and their colleagues in Cornwall are very proud of the place we live and work in. We want to keep it as beautiful, diverse and environmentally sustainable as we can… Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is demonstrating our aim that Cornwall remains at the cutting edge of clean and green business practices, and the success and pleasure we take from the natural place we operate in.”

Guests will have the opportunity to network with likeminded businesses during their complimentary breakfast and lunch. There will also be a tasting session for St Austell Brewery’s new ‘Wild Coast’ beer, brewed in partnership with Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

The event will be in partnership with Tevi, an ERDF-funded business support programme which helps build businesses whilst enhancing the natural environment.  Using circular economy and environmental growth strategies, Tevi help businesses grow, save money and benefit the natural environment.

Dr. Dan Bloomfield, Project Manager at Tevi, says,

“There is hardly a business in Cornwall that does not depend upon the quality of the Cornish environment in some way, and all will make an impact upon that environment.  We think that making the most of that natural asset should mean doing more business and doing that business better, smarter and cleaner. ”

The Wild Business Networking event will run from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. The event is free and includes complimentary breakfast, lunch and beer tasting, inspiring talks, networking, workshops, and refreshments.
