Cornwall Sustainability Awards Follow Global Trend

Cornwall is once again proving its credentials as a forward thinking centre for environmentally conscious businesses by hosting the 2017 Cornwall Sustainability Awards (CSA). The awards which are currently open for entries highlight the importance of sustainability planning to business owners. Cornwall Wildlife Trust is a keen promoter of the awards and this year is sponsoring the ‘Best Small Business’ category.

There is an increasingly global movement for incorporating sustainable practices into business plans, companies such as Marks and Spencer and more recently Mars, who has announced a $1 billion investment in this area, are looking to reduce their impact on the environment and make positive gains for nature. The Cornwall Sustainability Awards which reflect this trend are now in their fifteenth year. They are designed to help Cornish businesses to gain recognition for their contribution to improving not only their own sustainability but that of Cornwall as a whole.

Antonia Mullaly, Business Support Manager at the Trust said,

“Companies of all sizes should take a to look at their business plans and consider how they could be adapted to lessen their impact on Cornwall’s resources and make gains for our local communities and environment. If this is something you are already doing, then we want to help you promote it. Make sure you submit an entry and encourage others to do the same.

“The Cornwall Sustainability Awards are a great networking opportunity to highlight and share best practice amongst businesses. They have also provided previous winners with a springboard for further success in national and international competitions.”
