Beyond the Wave – Cornwall’s 7th Annual Your Shore Conference

Beyond the Wave – Cornwall’s 7th Annual Your Shore Conference

Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Cornwall College’s Your Shore Beach Rangers Project is delighted to announce the 7th Annual Your Shore Conference on Saturday 2nd March at the Pavilion Centre, Royal Cornwall Showground 9am-5pm. The conference celebrates the achievements of the Your Shore Network; a collaboration of fantastic marine conservation groups and volunteers around Cornwall.

The aim of the conference is to strengthen the links between these local groups with other organisations and Beach Rangers, to share ideas in conservation, and to engage and inspire each other to continue the amazing voluntary work that takes place around Cornwall.

This year’s conference follows the theme of ‘Beyond the Wave’ after the increased public awareness on environmental issues resulting from David Attenborough’s ‘Blue Planet II’ and Chris Packham’s ‘People’s Manifesto for Wildlife’.

The Your Shore Conference welcomes inspirational speakers from different aspects of the conservation sector and a range of activities aimed at engaging young people who will be the environmental leaders of future generations.

Join the Your Shore Beach Rangers and help answer the burning questions within marine management; How do we reach wider audiences beyond the ‘conservation bubble’? What are the obstacles to engagement and changes in behaviour? Can we use hot topics such as single-use plastics to raise awareness of other threats to our marine wildlife?

This Your Shore Conference is funded by the Your Shore Beach Rangers project, which is part of Our Bright Future, a Big Lottery Fund project.
