Paths in between the sections of boardwalk can get very muddy and stout footwear is recommended

About the reserve

This nature reserve is a rich mosaic of wet and dry heath, as well as areas of bog, ponds and woodland. The combination provides a unique series of habitats, once widespread, but now restricted to a few special places. Dorset heath occurs here and the ponds provide an excellent habitat for dragonflies and damselflies. In 1977, the remains of a Second World War bomber were found here, the hole formed a valuable pond
