Halbullock Moor is an important haven for a wide variety of wildlife. Birds are abundant here, and include the willow warbler, whose song can be heard persistently in the breeding season. The small, creeping Cornish moneywort has a strong population here. The area has been used for grazing since ancient times and there are signs of a medieval field system within the reserve
