Area Reserves Manager - Mid Cornwall
The Area Reserves Manager will take responsibility for all operations on our nature reserves in the Mid Cornwall Area. This will include woodland, wetland and heathland locations as well as urban and community reserves.
The role involves setting programmes of work and advising the Head of Nature Reserves of the budget requirements for the annual work plans. You will be responsible for ensuring that the plans are implemented through managing a skilled team along with contractors and volunteers.
As an expert in your field, you will be the face of CWT on reserves matters in Mid Cornwall.
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience;
Current knowledge and specialism in habitat management.
Knowledge of land management regulatory framework.
Experience of habitat and species monitoring and recording.
Delivery of habitat management and restoration work to include estate infrastructure installation and maintenance.
Preparing contract tenders and supervising work delivery.
Knowledge of livestock management.
Experiencer of budgets and financial management.
Experience of applying for and delivering land management grant schemes.
Strong IT skills to include GIS, spreadsheets, report writing and media based presentations.
Good verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships.
Interviews will take place the week commencing 7th December 2020*
*Interviews will be in person if government guidelines allow but will switch to a video interview if necessary.
