About the event

Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust and the associated Your Shore Network groups for a packed week of brilliant activities and events during National Marine Week!

From Saturday 25th July to Sunday 2nd August, we'll be celebrating and learning about our Cornish coastlines and marine life, why they're important and how to protect them.

Join the Tor to Shore team at Carlyon Bay on Tuesday 29th July for a fun-filled day celebrating the incredible marine wildlife and coastal habitats of St Austell Bay.

Come and discover what makes our local seas so special through a range of free, family-friendly activities.

Highlights include a snorkel lobster release, where you'll have the chance to help return young lobsters to the sea, as well as a fascinating talk from the National Lobster Hatchery about their conservation work. (Booking required for snorkelling)

Snorkelling - to book on to the Lobster release snorkel, please make sure to read all the information on the Eventbrite page

All other activities are open to all with no booking required.

Throughout the day, there will be:

  • silent disco beach cleans
  • marine-themed crafts
  • scavenger hunts
  • wildlife and conservation talks
  • ...and plenty of opportunities to explore, learn and connect with the amazing marine life found right here on our doorstep.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase from Shoreside, making it the perfect way to spend a summer's day by the sea. Whether you're a keen wildlife enthusiast or simply looking for a fun family day out, come and celebrate the wildlife, conservation and natural beauty of Carlyon Bay with us.
