About the event
Come and join Cornwall Wildlife Trust to learn how to survey the shoreline to find many of the wonderful marine creatures we have along the Cornish coastline!
This hands-on training will allow you to partake in the Shoresearch events and be part of the vital data collection needed to help preserve our coastline.
Shoresearch is a user-friendly and fun method of exploring the shore and recording the species and habitats found there. On the day, you will learn different survey methods as well as species identification techniques.
When? Saturday 21st March at 10:30am
Where? Battery Rocks, Penzance
Who? We welcome everyone (over 16s) from beginners to experts and especially those who are members of local Your Shore Network groups
How much? £20*

We will meet behind the war memorial next to Jubilee Pool at 10:30am. Please bring a drink and snack/packed lunch with you. You will need suitable shoes and clothing suitable for the ever-changing Cornish weather!

Useful Information
- This training is not suitable for those under the age of 16
- The session will be approximately 3-4 hours long out on the shore
- Toilets are available in the Jubilee Pool
- The terrain we will be on is uneven and slippery so appropriate footwear is essential (wellies or wetsuit boots)
- Please wrap up warm and bring waterproofs.
- Parking is available on the promenade or at local car parks
- The access to the survey site is via a slippery path and the terrain is unsuitable for wheelchair access.
- We will provide all survey equipment but do bring a rocky shore ID book if you have one.
