Looe Island Guided Walk
About the event
Take a boat trip to our unique reserve and join the warden for an escorted walk around the Island. During the 3 hour visit, we’ll help you spot the Island’s key wildlife. You’ll also learn about the Trust’s work and the challenges of island life. After the guided walk there’s an optional slideshow in Jetty Cottage or time to independently explore the island.

Suitable for: ages 11+, and an adult must accompany those under 16.
What to bring: there is no shelter on both the boat and during the guided walk so bring sensible clothing. Wear footwear suitable for walking on rough footpaths. Binoculars are useful.

Access information: not wheelchair friendly. Access to the Island may involve a climb over the side of a boat. From the boa,t there is a narrow ramp which, depending on sea conditions, may move and be awash with seawater. In place,s the route is very steep and uneven. The path can be slippery. The pace of the walk is generally slow and the distance walked is about 1.5km.
Other information: the boat crossing takes 15 minutes each way, making the whole trip last around 3 ½ hours.
