Race for Wildlife 2014
Race for Wildlife is back for the fourth year running on a new date of Sunday 7th December. Hosted from Penwith College, this stunning 7 mile(ish) race though the countryside north of Penzance includes breath-taking views of Mounts Bay and St Michael’s Mount. Organised by our friends the Mounts Bay Harriers, this event is part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Race Series and gives our supporters the chance to raise money to help us protect Cornwall's wildlife and wild places.
The race includes off-road tracks through a couple of fields with Cornish stiles to cross and it is run over uneven stony ground across the moors as well as on tarmacked roads. The first half of the run is uphill with the second half being downhill with a slight kick uphill to the finish at Penwith College.
Not suitable for wheelchair users. No dogs allowed on college premises or to run in the race.
No earphones/iPods/personal stereos are allowed to be worn or instant DQ!
Race HQ, parking, baggage area, toilets and showers are at Porthcurnow Building, Penwith College, St Claire Street, Penzance, Cornwall, TR18 2SA. Registration opens at 8.30am.
This event is a fundraiser for Cornwall Wildlife Trust with proceeds going towards helping to continue our important work protecting Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places. Those who take part help to make a real difference to their local wildlife.
