Welcome to Cornwall Wildlife Trust's events calendar. Everyone is welcome to attend our events which are held all over Cornwall. Events range from walks and talks to working parties and evening get togethers.

Helford snorkel safari
Booking is essential. Helford River (Grebe). Full details to be confirmed on booking. Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s marine biologists to celebrate National Marine Week with a 1 hour guided wildlife snorkel around the rocks, reefs and eel grass beds of the Helford. £5. Suitable only for experienced UK snorkellers and participants must be capable of swimming a minimum distance of 50m in open water.

This talk focuses on the roles of both charities at Polzeath, touching on their history. During Looe Carnival Week, join expert volunteers from the Looe Marine Conservation Group for our ever-popular rockpool ramble! Discover where to look, how to find and identify some of the wonderful and beautiful creatures and seaweeds that inhabit Looe’s amazing rockpools. We’ll help you identify common, rare and invasive species. No nets, please – they can harm delicate rockpool creatures. A free event suitable for all ages. Open Garden fundraiser: Trenarth near Constantine, Falmouth
This beautiful four acre garden is set around a 17th century farmhouse in lovely pastoral setting. There is year-round interest with the emphasis on unusual plants, structure and form. An ancient green lane circular walk through woods offers wildlife interest including a pond with a tree fern grove! Trenarth has a resident colony of bats so as well as being able to visit the gardens, visitors can learn more about this amazing species. Suitable for families. £4 per adult. Under 16 free.

Port Nadler picnic and beach clean near West Looe
During the South East Cornwall Walking Festival, join volunteers from Looe Marine Conservation Group for an afternoon on the coast to the west of Looe. Walk from Hannafore Beach along the South West Coast Path to the secluded Portnadler Bay. Once on the beach there will be a beach clean followed by a picnic and hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we will be able to have a swim in the clear water off the beach.

Steve Jones has had a lifelong passion for dragonflies and was the county recorder for dragonflies for 25 years. A keen wildlife photographer, he has exhibited in both Cornwall and Grazalema in Andalucia and is the author of the Insects of Cornwall & Isles of Scilly. Travels in Andalucia is a photographic journey through some of the best wildlife sites from the Sierra de Grazalema in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east.

Dave Groves read Zoology at Sheffield University, followed by a doctorate in fish biology and 20 years developing antibodies and diagnostic tests for human and veterinary medicine. Moving to Cornwall in 1999 he was able to get more involved with local wildlife groups, conservation and research, and is Chair of the Cornwall Mammal Group. His interests cover all our local mammals, but also moths and butterflies, reptiles and amphibians.

Robert Durrant was born in Bideford and had a full career in teaching, mainly English; his most exciting job was as a headmaster in Zimbabwe. He has had many wonderful safaris all over Zimbabwe, which included being charged by elephants a few times and making a ten-day canoe trip down the Zambesi, running the gauntlet of dense populations of crocodiles and stroppy hippos.
