Wildlife filming and editing course in the Penzance area
Booking is essential. Five day course where you will learn how to create exciting wildlife films through learning the skills of camera work, editing and story creation. You will be filming at the best wildlife locations in Cornwall, including some select Trust nature reserves. Course attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their work on the Trust's website. The sands safari at Perran Sands near Perranporth
Join us and have ago at The Sands Safari beginners orienteering trail collecting wildlife stamps as you go. This activity is normally only available to Perran Sands customers but today it’s open to all. Come and find me in Funky Fish at Perran Sands and I’ll talk you through the activity. The trail will take a minimum of 1hr 30 mins, but the slower you go the more you’ll see. The event is free.

Seaquest Southwest road show around Cornwall
For one week only, Cornwall Wildlife Trust is going to be touring the Seaquest Southwest project around Cornwall. Visiting some of the busiest tourist spots, the road show will provide information, games and activities to teach people about our wonderful marine life. Open Gardens Arundell near Crantock
A garden where no garden should be! Arundell is a one acre garden set around an original farm cottage on windswept north coast National Trust headland between two fantastic beaches. At the front is a cottage garden whilst on the side is a small but wonderful Mediterranean style courtyard. To the rear is a rockery and shrubbery leading up to a 'Stumper' and Fernery and on to a stream and pond, herbaceous borders, Beth Chatto Dry Garden, a small pinetum and spectacular exotic garden.

Evening sunset special wildlife heritage and geology cruises to the historic fishing village of Porthleven
BOOKING ESSENTIAL. South coast between Penzance and Porthleven. 5.45pm For 6.00 pm departure. . Return by 8.30pm. A two and a half hour RIB trip, looking out for cetaceans, seals, basking sharks, Ocean Sunfish, Also birds such as Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes and hopefully Choughs! Passing the famous landmarks of St.Michael’s Mount, Prussia Cove, and the restored mine relics at Trewarvas Head. Includes half hour refreshment stop in Porthleven! Suitable for children over 5.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL. Explore the dunes by night with bat detectors in hand and see how many species we can hear. Bat detectors pick up ultra sonic sounds that bats use to hunt telling us exactly what they are up to. Dogs on leads welcome. The event is free.

Open Gardens Trenarth near Constantine
This beautiful 4 acre garden is set around a 17th century farmhouse in a lovely pastoral setting. There is year-round interest with the emphasis on unusual plants, structure and form. An ancient green lane circular walk through woods offers wildlife interest including a pond with a tree fern grove! Trenarth has a resident colony of bats so as well as being able to visit the gardens, visitors can learn about this amazing species from Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s own specialist Bat Group.

Looe Island Nature Reserve guided walk
Take a boat trip to Looe Island Nature Reserve, just off the coast of Looe, south east Cornwall, then join the warden for a fascinating guided walk around the island. During the three and a half hour visit we’ll help you spot island wildlife such as grey seals and great black-backed gulls. You’ll also learn about the Trust’s work and the challenges of island life. The walks are £20 per person, places are limited and must be booked online in advance.

Cat Wilding is the Marine Survey Officer for Cornwall Wildlife Trust. She will be speaking about marine life highlights in Cornwall (from the high tide mark to the enormous basking shark!), focusing on what is found around the north Cornwall coastline. She will talk about the marine conservation work of Cornwall Wildlife Trust and how people can get involved in the exciting Seaquest Southwest project. £3.00, to include tea/coffee.

An illustrated talk by Steve Jones on the Wildlife of Spain. Wildlife travels in the Sierra de Grazalema. The Sierra de Grazalema in Spain was designated a Unesco Biosphere Reserve in 1977. Dragonfly enthusiast Steve Jones has been visiting this fantastic area for over a decade and will be showing us his images of the rich & varied wildlife found throughout the Natural Park & the province of Andalucía. The fascinating Flittermouse at Bude!
Sally Caudle studied Zoology at University with Pat Morris and has always been fascinated by animals, particularly mammals, from bats to whales - and bats are easier to handle! She will explain a little of the biology and life cycle of British bats, identify some of the many species and share her experiences. She has been caring for grounded bats for many years and hopes to bring a live bat for you to meet.
