Stephen Westcott - also known as 'Cornwall's Seal Man', has dedicated his life to investigating seal behaviour and the marine environment in which seals live. His intensive year-round studies of the West Country sea caves where the grey seals breed, are absolutely unique. As well as making many television appearances, Stephen Westcott has travelled the country giving lectures and field trips, bringing to public awareness the seals' fascinating world and the dangers they face. Not only is their life a permanent battle against the elements; in recent years, it has also been threatened by marine debris and oil pollution. In his book, Stephen Westcott shares with us his explorations, his fascination, and his concern about the grey seals and their world. |
