Vacancies at the Cornwall Wildlife Trust
Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust requires a Conservation Warden
The post-holder will
- carry out land management work using horticultural equipment
- assist with a programme of conservation grazing including carrying out stock checking and animal husbandry
- supervise and work alongside volunteers and community groups ensuring safe working practices are maintained
- manage vegetation alongside footpaths and around archaeological sites
- monitor breeding seabirds and eradicate non-native predators
- operate the Trust’s boat between inhabited and uninhabited islands
Applicants should:
- have a relevant degree and at least two years’ relevant work experience
- have the practical skills and relevant qualifications for: boat operation, tree felling, tractor driving, pesticide use, fencing, livestock management
- be an excellent communicator
- have an excellent knowledge of countryside issues
- be enthusiastic and self-motivated
A clean driving licence is essential.
A current recognised first aid certificate is desirable, as well as a good understanding and experience of Health & Safety.
A CRB check will be undertaken for this role.
Salary: circa £18,000 pa plus 3% pension contribution
