Wildlife Survey and recording forms
Animals in Cornwall are massively under-recorded. A good example of this
is shown by our current records: they imply that wood mice in Cornwall are
as rare as dormice! This is of course not true, but unless all species, even
the more common ones, are recorded, then a full picture of what is happening
to wildlife populations around us cannot be achieved.
Recording wildlife of any kind is very important, especially to people
involved with conservation. If you are not aware of the presence of an
animal in a particular area, how can you strive to protect it?
