North Hill Wood, Luxulyan Valley. 8.00pm An evening walk in the valley listening to and spotting bats using the latest electronic bat detectors.
This is a joint meeting with the Friends of Luxulyan Valley. Non members £1.50. Bring warm clothing and torch. Meet at Ponts Mill car park between St Blazey and Lostwithiel off the A390 (SX072562). Leader: Dr Carol Williams from the Bat Conservation Trust. Organised by Restormel Group.

GOING BATTY
Five Acres Nature Reserve, Allet
19.00-21.00 Come and learn a bit more about bats by playing games and making some batty things indoors, then we’ll go on a bat walk in the woods listening for bats hunting amongst the trees. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring a torch.
Suitable for all ages with adult help and the paths are wheelchair-friendly. Meet at CWT H/Q

WHO LIVES AMONGST THE GRAVESTONES?
St Clement churchyard, Truro 19.30-21.00 (sunset at 20.05) Come and find out about some of the wildlife that calls your local churchyard home. We will go on a bat walk with bat detectors to see if we can ‘hear’ the two species of bats known to live near the churchyard and go hunting there every night, and will end the evening with a bonfire and sausages, weather permitting. Wear warm clothing and bring something to sit on, a torch and a flask of something warm to drink after dark. Meet at St Clement Church (SW 851 439). BATTY ABOUT BOXES
Five Acres Nature Reserve, Allet
13.30-15.30 Come and help us celebrate Make a Difference Day by making a bat box to put up in your garden for local bats to shelter in. Some may even use it to hibernate in this coming winter. After you help us put one up in the nature reserve, you are in for a treat as Norman the tame Noctule is coming along to show you how they work! Limited Places – MUST BOOK! Phone Kirstie on 01872 273939 X 203 by Oct 10th to reserve your place. We provide the materials, designs, instructions and tools but you will need to bring an adult to help with the sawing and hammering.
