Spring, we dress ourselves up for the year
Summer, we stand in our glory
Autumn we change to our colours so clear
Winter we tell you our story
Here in the wood we have seen many changes
Here in the wood we have lived many years
Here we have grown in this old Cornish home
Here we've seen laughter and tears
Squirrels are flying between our fine branches
Gathering nuts for their long winter sleep
Food for them all as our golden leaves fall
Everyone safe in our keep
We give you shelter in hot sunny daytime
We give you shelter in wind and in rain
We make the air so pure and so clear
We give you life back again
Up in our branches the birds are all nesting
Homes for their young ones and food there to grow
Woodpecker, chiff-chaff and robin and jay
Watching the leaves fall below
We give you paper and leaves for your gardens
Wood for your houses and bark for your land
Insects that hide in our darkness inside
Proudly we live and we stand
Spring, we dress ourselves up for the year
Summer, we stand in our glory
Autumn, we change to our colours so clear
Winter, we tell you our story
