Pink Sea Fan Survey Project

With help from the SITA Trust, Cornwall Wildlife Trust completed its three year Pink Sea Fan Survey Project in 2008, and a detailed report of findings was completed in spring 2009.

Pink sea fan, photo by Simon AngroveThe pink sea fan is a nationally important species and has a Species Action Plan which guides its conservation. Pink sea fan dives have been completed around the coast to record the size and density of these corals in Cornish waters.

Although the project is complete we are still keen to take completed Seasearch pink sea fan recording forms from our divers. Please post your completed forms to Angie Gall, Marine Conservation Officer, at Cornwall Wildlife Trust as soon as possible after your dive, include as much detail as possible and any photographs of the pink sea fans or of unusual species would be greatly appreciated.
