Second showing of award winning Cornish wildlife film to meet demand

A second showing of the award-winning film ‘Wild Cornwall – Out of the Edge’ will be at the Poly Arts Centre, Falmouth, on Wednesday 21st February following an early sell-out of UK premiere tickets on the 8th February.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust is hosting the event and celebrated filmmaker Ian McCarthy will be doing a Q and A session on both evenings. The award-winning new film follows the turning year in Cornwall and received a prestigious Silver Dolphin Award at Cannes. It showcases Cornwall’s ‘wild heart’ – the dramatic lives of many species including breeding peregrines and seabirds on the cliffs, dolphins, seals and basking sharks in the ocean, and bats and otters hunting in the streams which flow from moor to sea.

Ian McCarthy is a long-term supporter of Cornwall Wildlife Trust, inspiring people’s interest in nature and having featured in their successful ‘My Wild Life’ campaign. Over the years Ian has won Emmy and BAFTA awards and has a reputation as one of the UK’s finest filmmakers, documenting spectacular natural scenes all over the world. He has been behind the lens of some of David Attenborough’s biggest landmark nature series and this personal account shows Cornwall’s wildlife as never seen before.

Ian McCarthy says,

“Cornwall with its long and rugged coast, high rocky cliffs, surf-battered beaches, sheltered inlets and tree-lined estuaries has a unique wild beauty. This is a film about the lives out on the edge where land, sea, and sky meet.”

Tickets are £10 and can be booked through the Poly Arts Centre, Falmouth www.thpoly.org or by phone on (01326) 319461
