Introducing Beavers at Helman Tor

Find out more about wild beaver reintroductions

St. Eval

St. Eval are helping Cornwall Wildlife Trust to work towards the wild release of beavers on our nature reserve at Helman Tor. Through their support we are recruiting a Beaver Officer to work on local consultation and the application process, ensuring that any wild beaver reintroduction is conducted responsibly, in a suitable location, and with the greatest positive impact for wildlife and local communities.

Seeding Change Together: Restoring Cornwall’s Seagrass Meadows

Learn about the partnership project

Seasalt Cornwall

We are very excited to have partnered with clothing brand Seasalt Cornwall on a three-year project to study and restore seagrass meadows in the River Fal. Using technology never previously trialled in Cornwall, we are collecting thousands of seeds and testing different restoration methods in the hope of expanding the seagrass bed at our Fal-Ruan nature reserve.

Seagrass meadows store huge amounts of carbon and play a key role in tackling the biodiversity and climate crises. Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s marine team hopes this pilot project could lead the way for large-scale seagrass restoration and monitoring throughout Cornwall.
