Cornwall Wildlife Trust supporters have their cake and eat it at Trevarno
8th October 2007
Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s corporate members, Trevarno Estate and Gardens have raised a staggering £900 for the Trust from the first year of their new Visitor Payback Scheme.
Trevarno are working with Cornwall Wildlife Trust to raise funds for nature conservation in Cornwall. The scheme started in May 2007 and has already raised in excess of £900 by adding a voluntary contribution of 5p on tea and coffee purchased in their conservatory restaurant.
Richard Cox, Director of Trevarno said, “As corporate members of the Trust, we are delighted to have found an alternative way to help to raise funds for their conservation work. We were surprised at how much we raised in the first year and would like to thank visitors to Trevarno for taking part.”
Visitor payback is simply a way of enabling visitors to make a voluntary contribution, monetary or other, to the local community and environment they visit.
Marie Preece, Marketing & Fundraising Manager for Cornwall Wildlife Trust said, “In the current fundraising and environmental climate, these schemes are an invaluable source of funding to the Trust, allowing us to continue to protect the very habitats and species that attract visitors to the county year on year”.
Cornwall Wildlife Trust is appealing to anyone who would like to set up a Visitor Payback Scheme to contact Marie Preece on 01872 273939 ext 205 or marie@cornwt.demon.co.uk.
