Cornwall Wildlife Trust promote car free days
25th September 2007
As part of Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Climate Friendly Fortnight, the award-winning Bedruthan Steps Hotel is promoting a Car Free Day to their guests on Friday 28th September.
At the forefront of sustainable tourism in the South-West, the Bedruthan team are always looking at new ways in which they can reduce their impact on the local environment. "We think that going car-free during your stay is a great idea, no one wants to spend their holiday stuck in traffic", says Sustainability Manager Ellie Dyer.
"By promoting a Car Free Day to our guests, we are helping them to reduce their carbon footprint whilst enjoying everything that our local area has to offer".
Bedruthan Steps are suggesting different local walks their guests can take. Experts from Cornwall Wildlife Trust will be available to lead a walk and provide advice.
John Breach, Climate Change Champion for Cornwall Wildlife Trust said, "We are delighted that the Bedruthan Steps Hotel are taking part in Climate Friendly Fortnight and showing how much fun can be had without using a car".
The hotel is providing their younger guests with fishing nets and buckets so that they can explore the rock pools at Mawgan Porth and are also suggesting some ideas for unusual sandcastles they could create. If their guests do want to venture out of the local area, then a bus timetable is to hand, together with information on which bus is needed for each attraction. They hope the day will be a great success and are going to promote more car-free activities to their guests in the future.
