SEASEARCH OBSERVER COURSE

This course for experienced qualified SCUBA divers trains volunteers to record the wildlife and habitats they encounter during their dives. Data collected is vital in our marine conservation and monitoring work and on top of that it is great fun! Course covers species id, and skills needed, and includes two shore dives.

There will be classroom sessions and shore dives on both days. You will need to bring your own equipment for these dives. Due to the nature of shore dives twinsets are not recommended.
Please note there are minimum requirements for participation in this event -Diving is a potentially dangerous sport so we have to be careful that our diving volunteers have sufficient training and experience and meet the following requirements, divers must:
•Be aged 18 or over
•Be a trained diver qualified to the level of BSAC Sports diver, PADI Rescue diver or equivalent
•Have recent experience of cold water diving including a minimum of 20 logged dives, 10 of which should be in the UK and 2 of which should be within the last 6 months.
•Have your own dive gear or able to rent dive gear which must be serviceable and within test date
•Have a current diving medical or self-certification declaration
•Have third party liability diving insurance.
•Be fit on the day and fully able to participate
We require all participants to provide us with evidence that you meet the above requirements prior to being accepted on the course. We reserve the right to cancel someones booking if they are not able to meet our requirements.
