The Friends group is for anyone who loves this special nature reserve in Saltash. The group was set up to help the local community get more involved with the nature reserve. Whether it's practical management tasks to organising walks and talks, the Friends group take an active role to ensure the local community can enjoy this wonderful wildlife haven.
About the Friends groupThe Friends group is for anyone who loves Churchtown Farm Community Nature Reserve in Saltash. We were set up to help the local community get more involved with the nature reserve. Whether it's practical management tasks to organising walks and talks, we take an active role to ensure the local community can enjoy this wonderful wildlife haven.
About the nature reserveThe reserve has a picturesque setting between the Tamar and the Lynher estuaries. The majority of habitat is farmland, which is now managed for wildlife and includes wetland, hay meadows, arable land and hedgerows. The two quarries are designated as County Geology Sites.
Events at the nature reserveThe Friends group organises monthly workshops and a monthly practical working party, as well as school educational visits.

Farmland birds appealCornwall Wildlife Trust is running an appeal to fund seed-crop cultivation at Churchtown Farm Community Nature Reserve. We need to plant 12 acres of fields with seed-bearing crops to help feed the farmland birds that visit the nature reserve.
