Nature Reserves Birthday Walks
At various reserves around Cornwall
Come along to our Nature Reserves Birthday walks, 50 years after the Trust's founding meeting, at one of six nature reserves around the county. Join Trust staff, volunteers and Trustees, learn about the wildlife that can be discovered and find out how we managed the land for its benefit. The special guided walks include tea and birthday cake, and will last from 10.00am until 11.30am at the following Trust nature reserves:

Open Gardens
At various locations around Cornwall

Gardens are vital wildlife havens and bring people closer to nature. This year the Trust will again be holding an Open Gardens scheme, with supporters all over the county throwing open their doors and inviting visitors to explore their beautiful gardens to raise money for the Trust. Visit the

Wildlife Celebration
At The Lost Gardens of Heligan, near St Austell
Join us at The Lost Gardens of Heligan for our annual celebration of wildlife and our conservation work. There will be a host of walks, activities and displays, with something for everyone to enjoy. Our 50th Anniversary Wildlife Celebration will include the chance to meet Cornwall’s native wildlife with Gwel an Mor’s Feadon Farm Wildlife Centre including barn owns, harvest mice, grass snakes, birds of prey and more.

Come and join the Trust's Fox Club in the ever popular Flower Marquee at Royal Cornwall Show. Experts will be on hand to answer all your questions about how to improve your gardens for wildlife,
The Trust's inaugural Living Seas Ball will celebrate Cornwall’s amazing sea life. From dolphins to basking sharks, seahorses to sea squirts, Cornwall’s marine environment is unique and this event will be dedicated to the wonderful wildlife we are so lucky to have in Cornish seas. This spectacular evening will enthral, educate and inspire our guests to help us protect our precious Living Seas, including guest speaker Nick Baker and a three-course dinner. Run your socks off for wildlife! Following the fantastic success of our very first Race for Wildlife in 2011, our 2012 10K race and 1 mile fun run will be even bigger and better and we will once again team up with local running club Mounts Bay Harriers.
The 10K race is a stunning multi-terrain run through the countryside north of Penzance including breath-taking views of Mounts Bay and St Michael’s Mount. Includes 2.4km (1.5 miles) off-road on tracks and uneven stony ground, the remainder is on-road. The 1 mile fun run is is a lovely route around the wonderful country tracks and paths of Trengwainton Gardens by kind permission of the National Trust.

'Wildlife Friendly Business Award' at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2012
As part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations, we will be working with Visit Cornwall on a brand new category within the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2012 - a must for businesses who are passionate about making a difference to Cornwall's wildlife. Details to be confirmed.
