Welcome to Cornwall Wildlife Trust's events calendar. Everyone is welcome to attend our events which are held all over Cornwall. Events range from walks and talks to working parties and evening get togethers.

Take a boat trip to our unique reserve and join the warden for an escorted walk around the Island. During the 3 hour visit we’ll help you spot the Island’s key wildlife. You’ll also learn about the Trust’s work and the challenges of island life. After the guided walk there’s an optional slide show in Jetty Cottage or time to independently explore the island. Suitable for ages 11+, and an adult must accompany those under 16. £25. Includes boat and landing fees which are payable upon booking.

Join expert volunteers from the Looe Marine Conservation Group for our ever-popular rockpool ramble! Discover where to look, how to find and identify some of the wonderful and beautiful creatures and seaweeds that inhabit Looe’s amazing rockpools. We’ll help you identify common, rare and invasive species. No nets, please – they can harm delicate rockpool creatures. A free event suitable for all ages. Rockpool ramble and shoresearch survey at St Ives
Booking is essential. Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s marine biologists to explore the shore at St. Ives, looking for starfish, anemones, crabs and fish amongst many other exciting finds! Those that are interested can also participate in a Shoresearch survey to gather data to contribute to a national project. This is a joint event with Fox Club. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is kindly sponsored by South West Water.

Talk: A year in the life of a BDMLR vet at Looe
LMCG Volunteer and Veterinary Consultant with the charity British Divers Marine Life Rescue, (BDMLR) Darryl Thorpe describes the work of the charity's vets & trained volunteers. His talk will include highlights of his seal rescue work in the 2014/15 pupping season, and the work done by BDMLR throughout the year, rescuing marine animals around the UK coast including porpoises, dolphins, whales, seals, turtles and marine species of birds. Suitable for families.

This stunning garden boasts wild flower areas, beautiful specimen trees and terraced borders. Pedn Billy is ablaze with azaleas, magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias and flowering bulbs. Half of the 12 acres is ancient woodlands with paths that wind down to Port Navas Creek and Helford River to its own private beach. Suitable for families. £4 per adult. Under 16 free.

Neglected for over 50 years the semi natural ancient woodland at 10 Acre Wood, Polmorla, near Wadebridge is slowly being restored to its former glory! Follow the river along a bluebell walk under oak and holly, have great fun in the children's adventure playground or just wander amongst the mixed fruit trees in the orchard. There is plenty to see and enjoy. The event is suitable for families. £4 per adult. Refreshments will be available and dogs on leads welcome.

Parking provided by the Inn on the Shore and meeting point is at the slipway just east of the steps descending below the Inn on the Shore. Join volunteers from the village of Downderry and the Looe Marine Conservation Group for a beach clean that will stretch from the Downderry sea wall to Bass Rock. Claire Wallerstein will join us to talk about plastic bottle caps and their impact on the Marine environment.

Cornwall Butterfly conservation open day near Looe
Booking is not essential but useful to know for catering. Philip (Chairman of CBC) and Faith Hambly invite you to their farm at Lethytep, with its wonderful wildlife area with walks and lakes. There should be many mid-summer butterflies flying, and much more besides. Food, including pasties, provided, plus tombola and raffle. Children are warmly welcomed, but must be accompanied by an adult. We ask for a £5 donation to help cover food costs.

Open Garden fundraiser: The Old Watermill St Mabyn
This garden has never opened to the public before! At almost two acres The Old Watermill employs and enjoys the delights of several springs creating one large and one small pond with a winding stream and other water features. Many mature trees and winding paths create different planting schemes to accommodate wildlife amongst the woodland and wetland aspects. An orchard formalises one end while a large lawn with granite standing stone and Rugosa Rose hedge allows for the distant views.
