Restormel branch AGM and wildlife of Spain at Newquay
An illustrated talk by Steve Jones on the Wildlife of Spain. Wildlife travels in the Sierra de Grazalema. The Sierra de Grazalema in Spain was designated a Unesco Biosphere Reserve in 1977. Dragonfly enthusiast Steve Jones has been visiting this fantastic area for over a decade and will be showing us his images of the rich & varied wildlife found throughout the Natural Park & the province of Andalucía. Donations taken.

The fascinating Flittermouse at Bude!
Sally Caudle studied Zoology at University with Pat Morris and has always been fascinated by animals, particularly mammals, from bats to whales - and bats are easier to handle! She will explain a little of the biology and life cycle of British bats, identify some of the many species and share her experiences. She has been caring for grounded bats for many years and hopes to bring a live bat for you to meet.

Wilidlife talk "From 40 degrees North" by Oliver Smart in St Austell
Northern latitudes are an attractive prospect for nature photographers. Oliver's journey to the Alaskan Arctic to photograph Polar Bears, the Shetland Isles for thousands of seabirds and to Finland for Golden Eagles and Black Grouse will give you a glimpse of the delights of these three destinations. This will be one not to miss! Cost is £2. Limited car park spaces (please car-share).

Race for wildlife in Penzance
Registration opens 8.30am Race starts at 10.00am. A 7 mile(ish) race though the countryside north of Penzance including breath-taking views of Mounts Bay and St Michael’s Mount. This race is part of the Cornish Multi-Terrain Race Series for 2014. Not suitable for young children. Entrants must be over 16. Affiliated £10.00/ Non-affiliated £12.00 (£2 extra for entries on the day). Toilet, shower and changing facilities are available.

Rosenannon Bog is a hidden wildlife gem under threat from scrub encroachment. We’ve been chipping away at the scrub here with the help of local Commoners and really making a difference so come and lend a hand with some scrub clearance – there’ll be a bonfire to warm up on and jacket potatoes (or buttered charcoal, depending!)… The event is free.

Coppice and keep at Helman Tor Nature Reserve
Red Moor is a vast, wild corner of Cornwall with a wide range of habitats and a spectacular array of wildlife – including dormice. The northern part of the Nature Reserve has hazel woodland which we manage by coppicing to provide better habitats for the dormice. Come and join in with this rewarding task, with the added bonus of filling up your car boot with the firewood you cut!

Join the Monkey Sanctuary’s Education team to build bug hotels out of wood and bamboo while learning about which beasties you will be able to help in your garden when you put them up at home.
